The Andean region is located in the center of the country. It is made up of 23 departments, including the department of QuindÃo and the department of Valle del Cauca.
The Andes have several types of ecosystems, this due to its altitudinal floors, one of the most striking ecosystems is the paramo, which plays a key role in the water cycle for the area.
In addition, due to its natural characteristics it presents a high diversity in the different biological resources, this high diversity favors the economic development derived from its ecosystemic resources in activities such as agriculture.
